The new stand-alone HEA from New York Times bestselling author, Melody Grace!
They say that time heals a broken heart, but you try moving on when your ex is the most famous man on the planet.
Every time I walk down the street, there's a billboard plastered with his gorgeous face: Finn McKay. Now he’s a drop-dead sexy rock star, but when I first knew him, he was just the boy from the wrong side of the tracks - and the first guy I ever loved. He broke my heart into a hundred pieces when he skipped town without saying goodbye – but now he’s back.
And he wants me.
I’m determined not to make the same mistakes twice, but the chemistry with Finn was always way too hot to ignore. He was the guy who had me sneaking out my bedroom window for just one more kiss, and breaking curfew parked by the riverbanks, steaming up his windows in the backseat of his car. The past five years have been good to him, real good, and between his dirty mind and that ‘I know how to make you scream’ smile, he’s breaking through my defenses all over again.
Maybe one last wild fling for old time’s sake is what I need to finally move on. But what happens when Finn wants more than my body?
This time he wants everything.

I know I'm young, and I can hear all the safe, explanations running through my head.
But I know, deep down, he's the one for me.
This brave, wounded, infuriating man is all I want in the world.
But the problem is, I know how it feels to watch him walk away.

I first came across this book when I saw a teaser, I was really intriged
so I did what I normally do which is stalk the author, scour her page
and social media looking for ARC sign ups etc (yes, I have no shame). I
haven't read very many second chance romance novels, but I have to say
that I really liked this one. Apart from being separated from each other
for a few years and having one major secret, this book was relatively
drama free with very low angst. I'd compare to a hot cup of coffee (that
first cup in the morning), goes down easy and once you've finished
drinking it you feel refreshed and suddenly the world looks that much
brighter.
Finn and Eva's story, is about the bad boy and the quiet girl that no one notices, becoming the best of friends and that friendship growing into something so much more. The girl who came from a loving home and the boy who had never had loving word spoken to him. Polar opposites healing each other. After Finn left Eva and Oak Harbor without a word, Eva was left to pick up the pieces of her broken heart. Her life began spiraling into a completely different and much darker direction than she had planned until she finally got the nerve to go back home. With a younger sister struggling to make a life for her and her son, a dead end job at a Real Estate agency and volunteering all her free time at the animal shelter, Eva is fully immersed in Oak Harbor but has no time to face the deep set issues in her life. Until Finn comes back...
Here, in her arms, with nothing between us anymore, I feel the kind of peace I've not found the whole world over. A rightness, a belonging. And fuck, it drives me crazy, but underneath screaming nerve endings and mad, hot lust, there's something more powerful than just this moment.
Beyond physical, to where it touches my soul.
This, girl, this place.
Right here.
With the return of Finn to Oak Harbor, Eva is forced to deal with her past. Finn finally realises that leaving might not have been the right choice. This was a really light and enjoyable read but it had plenty of hot and sizzling scenes.
He tangles his fingers in my hair, then tugs me closer, leaning in to whisper in my ear. "Is that what you like now, baby?" His voice is rasping, seductive. "You want me to tell you all the filthy, wicked things I'm going to do to you? How I jerk off imagining your pretty mouth wrapped around my cock, taking every last drop and begging me for more."
I loved the world that the author built, I got to know Oak Harbor and it's residents and I found it really cute but also familiar. I hope that Eva's sister can get her own book I'd love to read her happy ending.
