The Madam (VIP, #2) by M. Robinson Blog Tour Stop & Review

Some people need love…

I need sex, money, control, and power.

Anyone could have those four things, but only one could have VIP. Becoming Madam was never a choice for me, it was a mandated order from the most powerful woman I knew- my mother. I was born to fill her shoes, never to make mistakes, or to show weakness.

You are the product of your environment. They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree; you learn from what you see, not from what you're told. Nature vs. Nurture. I learned from it all; what I saw, what I didn't see, what I was told, and from reading between the lines.

I was raised with the belief that the world spun ONLY because of me. I held power as far back as I can remember, saw things no one ever talks about, and witnessed illegal acts of sex, drugs, and money by the time I was eighteen.

You saw a glimpse of me in VIP, now see it from the beginning. Enter my world where anything goes; no judgments, no remorse, no guilt. You play by my rules, or you don’t play at all. There are no limits to what I can do, or to what I can show you…I will ensure my legacy my any means necessary.

My name is Lilith Veronica Stone, and I am The Madam.

Warning: Book contains adult situations.

The Madam (VIP, #2)The Madam by M. Robinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

★★★★☆ 4.5 Stars!

"Some people need love...I need sex, money, power, and control."

The Madam is fierce, unapologetic, strong and BALLSY. She is not a person you want to cross or someone whose bad graces you want to find yourself in. BUT her story did make for one hell of a crazy, sensual, messed up, disturbingly fascinating and - without a doubt - ENTERTAINING ride filled with lot so sex, drugs and rock and roll.

I will admit The Madam is nothing like the first book in this series VIP, but that doesn't mean it was any less impressive or memorable, on the contrary. While VIP was the slow burning romance story of Ysa and Sebastian, The Madam was more of a one-woman-show. In which, of course, Madam stole the show.

"I am not an evil woman, but I want what I want, when I want it."

Starting with when she was just a little girl, we follow the story of how Lilith was trained from an early age by her mother to become a VIP and later on take over the gavel of running the business as The Madam. Her childhood wasn't a pleasant one, at least not from most people's POV, but to her it was all she knew. Her entire world revolved around VIP, from sunrise to sunset VIP is what kept her busy. She's a ruthless businesswoman who has no time or need for silly, vapid things such as love and romance. Although...what she had with Mika (whose character I LOVED btw) was the closest thing that came to love. Still, don't expect there to be a happily ever after in Madam's future... Normally I'm the kind of person that craves a happy ending, but in The Madam and the world of VIP it somehow made perfect sense for the story to end the way it did.

We already met The Madam in the first book of the series and to be honest, I wasn't such a fan of her then. She was always brutally honest, which I admired, and mercilessly mean, which I kind of hated her for. But I have to say, reading her entire back story made me understand why she became the person she is today much clearer. Her upbringing and her mother played a huge part in making her so detached and closed off from her emotions. I have never come across anyone like her and I've certainly never read an entire book about a character like Lilith/Madam so it was very refreshing and interesting to read her POV and the author has done an incredible job at giving us an uninvited view of life as a VIP in the vibrant city of Miami.

"It was my one true love. VIP was my beginning, my middle, and my end."

After VIP, I think we all wanted more Ysa and Sebastian and I still do...but The Madam truly deserved a story all on her own. She's such a fascinating character. The kind of person you would loathe in real life but who's cleverness and unapologetic determinacy you'd admire from the sidelines. She's the kind of person you love to have and hate to love. Throughout the story I kind of had a love/hate relationship with her, but in the end you have to applaud her for being such a brilliant puppet master and powerful ruler of a billion dollar company.

This book can be read as a standalone but if the series has piqued your interest, I would highly recommend giving both books a try. And if you're going to read The Madam, be prepared for a wild, hot as hell read in which inhibitions have no place.

Now, for the ending...

...the epilogue took me completely off guard! The story started out with a bang and it ended with one too. Those final pages added a whole new dimension to the series as a whole and made me *very* anxious to get my hands on the next book so I'll be (not so) patiently awaiting the release of MVP from now on. ;)

**Before you read The Madam, be sure and read book 1: VIP**

32 year old Sebastian Vanwell, was a very successful yacht broker, who always loved the design and architecture of a luxurious boat. His only addiction was being on the water. He loved it, he thrived on it, and he needed it in his life. After a very stable, loving childhood with only a few bumps, Sebastian married the love of his life. The one person that he knew would always be there. Julia was his rock, and he loved her more than life itself. Sebastian kept his addiction to the water under control, wanting to keep his time with his wife and son his number one obsession, that was until he saw her. This new addiction haunted him, the one compulsion that he couldn't control no matter how hard he tried.

Ysabelle Telle hit him hard, knocking the wind from his lungs. Coming from worlds apart, beautiful, dark complexion Ysabelle Telle didn't have the rich, protected background that Sebastian Vanwell had. Ysabelle lived a life of hell, in poverty, growing up with a drug addict mother that never cared, and horrific living conditions. Ysabelle lived for one person and one person only; herself. She was pure perfection, her beauty along with a flawless body had men lined up, driveling over her ensuring her success as a VIP.

There are too many words that describe the effects when two diverse worlds like theirs collide. They both have too much to lose to get caught in the forceful pull, which could destroy them both.
