WOW...seriously, fan-fucking-tastic! I never thought when I stumbled across this book that I would be getting such an amazing read. One that captured me from start to finish. When I read the words space and galaxy, I thought...meh, not my thing. But surprisingly, it didn't bother me in this book, as the focus was on the characters more than anything.
Gar Stitt, a bounty hunter, is a loner with a heart of ice. His focus in life is getting the job done...and keeping everyone at bay. After losing his family during his teen years, Gar has sworn to never let anyone close. So when his requested to simply locate and retrieve a space pirate, he sees the assignment beneath him...never guessing how close the pirate will get to melting the ice around his heart.
Why did Gar want to sink into his embrace and forget the universe and all the shit it piled on his shoulders?
Captain Faolan aka Wolf, a space pirate, seeks to strike a deal with Gar's boss, leader of the Guild, in the hopes of making money to support his ship and crew. Things begin to work against Faolan, when the bounty hunter soon becomes the hunted. Putting his plans aside, Faolan chooses to help the sexy accented Gar in discovering why he suddenly has a bounty on his head.
Traveling together and alone on a ship, soon leads to exploring the attraction they share. Their connection is deep, yet new to them both.
Without thinking, he leaned forward and kissed the man hard, driving his tongue into Faolan's mouth, needing to feel something- any sort of connection.Gods, he was so tired of being alone.
Gar always trying and failing to keep his distance, fears he'll grow attached and lose someone he cares about. Faolan finds himself unable to resist the draw he feels towards Gar, but also feels the need for distance...with secrets of his own.
I loved these two together! The bantering and interactions were highly amusing and fun to read about.
"I mentioned there were some rules," Gar said quietly..."The first is don't mess up my ship.""Can I mess you up instead?"
They're a match made between the stars. The story line was intriguing and kept me interested all the way. I only dropped a .2 from my rating, due to wanting more at the ending. Still in saying that, this was awesome and...perfect.
A thrilling ride all the way. This book is a must read mates xx
